An old soldier who kept the Mute Wall for 30 years said some things after his discharge that nobody cares to hear. "The wall is 100 metres high, laid up of black stone. By day it is a wall; at night you will see characters on it, giving off a blue light. Those characters are the names of the kings. In all my years on the wall I watched them go, one after another, by themselves."
