A long-form urban apocalypse novel in the everyman tradition. Crime-beat journalist Li Kaichen photographs a sky rift in Taipei's Xinyi district at 3:17 a.m. — only to find that every other witness's memory has been smoothed away. From a single image that may disappear at any moment, he begins to uncover missing persons, husk-bodies, the rift black market, and a reality being quietly rewritten.
The early arcs focus on urban anomalies and rift documentation; the middle moves into lockdown zones, black-market dealing, and a global wave of rifts; the later arcs reveal a deeper truth.
