Cultivators no sect will take in and no master stands behind. Odd jobs for the pill shops at the bottom of the market town, tattered scrolls copied and studied alone, and one qi deviation is enough that they never get up again.

Rogue cultivators believe methods are simply like this, a matter of talent and luck. But the flaws are too neat. Too neat to be the will of heaven.
