From the meteorites that fell 5,000 years ago, through the three races colonising the Frozen Continent, the Great War, and the Peace Treaty that started the Kaiyuan count—ten thousand years of the Origin World.

The known world is made of 4 continents: Saint Dora at the centre, the Dawn Continent to the west, the Badlands to the northeast, and the Frozen Continent, deathly cold, straddling the entire southern half.

The dead-white country at the bottom of the map. Spectra has labelled it a "no-data zone" for 80 years, and nobody has asked twice.

The count the serial's present day runs on. Kaiyuan Year 1010, and everything begins with one error message before dawn that year.
